Our Lady Queen of Peace Internet and Chapel Policies
Internet Policies. Internet policies apply to the Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Community web site, Facebook, Twitter, and other related electronic applications.
1. General Policy. Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Community views the Internet as an important educational, evangelizing, and informational tool for publicizing the religious education, adult faith formation, and ministerial programs. As such, the Our Lady Queen of Peace web site is available to give community members, guests, and visitors information about regularly scheduled liturgies, to notify them of special events, to catechize, to evangelize, and/or to provide other community information.
2. Personal Identifiable Information. Our Lady Queen of Peace Web Site administrators will not post or distribute personal identifiable information including pictures of any child under the age of eighteen without verifiable consent of a parent or guardian. Personal identifiable information includes full name, photos, home address, email address, telephone number or any information that would allow someone to identify or contact a child. Verifiable consent can take the form of a written release/permission form signed by a parent or guardian, an email from a parent or guardian, or verbal permission by a parent or guardian in the presence of another adult.
3. Prayer List. Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Community will pray for all sick, injured, or deployed members and will publish their names on this website. The web administrator assumes that by making a prayer request, the individual or family gives permission to publicize the member's name.
Other Chapel Policies.
1. Hospital Ministry Policy. Due to governmental privacy policy, those who wish to have their name appear on the hospital registry and be visited by a priest or one of our lay Eucharistic Ministers must mark "Catholic" on the hospital registration papers and agree to have their name released. If they do not agree to release their name, they will not appear as a Catholic on any rosters or their name will appear with religious preference listed as "unknown;" in all likelihood, they will not be visited by one of our ministers until we know they are hospitalized by other means. This action must be accomplished in the Admissions Office at the time of entry into the hospital. Click here to see the entire policy.
2. Inclement Weather Policy. In case of severe inclement weather, the chapels follow the base inclement weather policy: if the weather becomes so severe that the base closes, then all chapel services and activities will be canceled as well. If the base remains open during severe weather, and Greene, Montgomery, or other local counties declare local emergencies and restrict travel on highways, chapel services will proceed as scheduled – you should travel at your own discretion and risk per the county restriction level.
