Hospital Ministry. Parish clergy and lay ministers provide a hospital ministry to take care of the spiritual needs of anyone hospitalized at the Wright-Patterson Medical Center. A priest celebrates Mass every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 11:00 am, in the hospital chapel, located on the basement floor, and is available after Mass for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and anointing. A priest will respond to an emergency request at any hour. A Lay Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) or a priest visits Catholic patients each day to pray and distribute Holy Communion.
Government Privacy Policy. Due to the federal privacy policy, if you wish your name to appear on the hospital registry and to be visited by a priest or EMHC, you must mark “Catholic” on your hospital registration papers and agree to have your name released. If you do not agree to release your name, your name as a Catholic will not appear on any rosters, and in all likelihood, you will not be visited by one of our ministers.
Anointing of the Sick. If you know you are going to be hospitalized and wish to see a priest beforehand, please call the parish office, and we can arrange an appointment, or talk to a priest after Mass. Likewise, if you become hospitalized in one of the hospitals downtown, you may be visited by one of the local priests or lay ministers who are assigned to that particular hospital from one of the local parishes. However, our clergy and lay ministers are glad to visit you if they know of your hospitalization a little in advance. Please keep the parish office informed of your hospitalizations -- we can add your name to the general intercession prayer lists at weekend Mass, we can pray for you at daily Mass, and we can better meet the requirements of your spiritual needs.
