In case of severe inclement weather, the following base policy is in effect. If the weather becomes so severe that the base closes, then all chapel services and activities will be cancelled as well. If the base remains open during severe weather, and Greene, Montgomery, or other local counties declare local emergencies and restrict travel on highways, chapel services will proceed as scheduled, and you should travel at your own discretion and risk per the county restriction level. Listen to local radio and TV for base closure announcements. In all cases, please use common sense and drive carefully if you travel.
Montgomery, Greene, and Clark counties all have the same definition of snow emergency levels:
Level 1: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads are also icy. Drive very cautiously.
Level 2: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.
Level 3: All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roadways may subject themselves to an arrest.
